
Vegan Filipino BBQ
A delicious and savory vegan version of the classic Filipino BBQ, using soy curls marinated in a sweet and smoky sauce with banana ketchup and liquid smoke.

- 11.Soak soy curls in water for 10-15 minutes until soft. Wring out excess water.
- 22.In a bowl, mix together ketchup, soy sauce, oil, sugar, garlic, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, liquid smoke, and pepper.
- 33.Add soy curls and mix to make sure it is coated with the marinade.
- 44.Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for maximum flavor absorption.
- 55.Add enough oil (about ¼ cup) to the pan and fry soy curls until slightly browned and the tips slightly charred. Let the soy curls sit for about 2-3 minute intervals before mixing.

- 77.Serve with java rice, garlic rice, or regular rice! Best eaten with either atsara (pickled papaya), pickled red onion, or salted sliced tomato.
